About me:
Well, some of you might remember me from '09, when I was an avid poster on these boards, but for those that don't, my name is Nicola and as of March I will be nineteen. I have such wonderful recollections of these boards, but the only issue I ever had was my age; there seemed to be nobody so young on the boards. Looking over my old bio made me smile, I was in such a miserable place then. It wasn't teen-angst, however; I was in a group of 'friends' who made me terribly unhappy, I was always mature for my age, and was thus feeling wretched in school and there were other things in my past that would 'bring me down' so to speak. Now, well I'm in University studying English and History, and I love every moment of it. I have made so many new friends who are genuinely lovely people, and to be surrounded with such a level of intelligence is wonderful. Also, through my lecturers, I have met amazing people, from whom I have learned so much. There is always a little part of me that cannot ever be truly happy, but I am sure as hell happier than I have ever been. I think that is enough to say here; the below sections will inform you of anything else. :)

A Couple of Poems

Breda the robin sits on my window;
She has not called for a while.
Singing sweets songs that she always sang -
I will sing back to you now:

'Sonny don't go away'.

Not an eye cast in three years,
You are back in my life, I am crying
Fresh tears. Where did you come from?
Why are you here? Don't go away -

'Sonny don't go away'.

So much to do, so much to give,
I would willingly die just so you could live.
Taken too soon - too soon was ever and my
Ever was never, though never was never

Now you're gone forever…

'Sonny don't go away'

The pedestal lay beneath its majesty;
It is tall, it is grand as a zande.
A pedestal leaves a long way from the top
If one should drop, should drop a mile.

Tipping, tapping, knocking, thumping,
No one casts a notion on the plinth.
It is hollow, void as a heart of stone
If one had known, what dwelled within.

The model upon is an effigy below,
The weight on the shoulders, the
Cracks that blow, no one knows the
Anathema of a dais.
